WHAT A WEEK

It has been quite the week. Iam so tired and worn out that i cant even think anymore. Last thursday noah got his immunization and had a real bad reaction from it. his leg swelled and turned bright red and was real hot and hard. I felt s bad for him. he was limping and tense. So we brought him to the hospital and the doctor couldnt do anything but benedryl for the reaction. Lil tip for new parents....watch out for the immunizations, too much tetanus can cause a reaction, and before your kid is 4 they have already had 4 of these. studies say by the 4th or 5th tetanus shot some infants may have a full body reaction or a small one like noah.... and your only suppose to get them every 10 years.so his leg finally went down by sunday, then he got a fever.
urrgg..his whole body was hot. so we took him to the hospital again and they said he had a chest, ear and gland viral infection. wow i thought. so we went home with antibiotics.the next day he had a bit of a cough, and we went for turkey dinner and during that he began to feel awful. so once again we took him to the hospital to rule out tonsilitus. And yup the doctor ruled that out.
And told us that ONCE AGAIN he had the croupe. great i thought...this is going to be rough. So we went home again, and later that night around 230 am noah began to get real sick, coughing and throwing up and at the same time trying to breathe, his face was going blue and we took him in again. they put him on steroids and oxygen with epinepherine. that helped alot, except he fought the O2 mask and medicine. SO the doctor admitted us into the hospital.
We had such a rough time keeping him breathing and relaxed. the doc said they wanted to med-evac us out to vancouver childrens hospital, but we ended up staying because it wasnt safe to travel by plane with noah and his breathing.
Later on when we got x-rays of noahs chest, it showed that noah also has phneumonia in his right lung.....wow. i had nothing but worry. i was crying and i hadnt slept in 39 hours.
My poor son was lying in bed with O2 and meds galore!!
Today we are home until sunday. they sent us home with a portable O2 machine, and meds. Sunday we fly out to BC childrens hospital, to rule out any other lung or chest issues.
Ihope this is it..
